This weekend saw the Pickup Truck Racing Championship heading for its annual visit to Thruxton Circuit in Andover. Qualifying took place late Saturday afternoon after a free practice session early in the morning. In Q1 Neil was 0.5 seconds from getting pole for Race 1 with the pickups setup working great however towards the end of Q2 Neil though the pickUp was starting to get a bit of over steer but with only enough time to do 1 more lap we decided to fix it later after the qualifying session. Saturday was also a special day because it was Crew Chief Margaret’s Birthday. Sunday morning saw Race 1, Neil started from Row 5 on the grid, he finished 10th. Race 2 then took place late in the afternoon but as Neil started the race his rev counter stopped working, this meant it was up to guess work when to change the gears. Neil continued the race and finished in 9th place despite the technical hitch. We have maintained our 5th position with 2609 points in the overall championship with our next event at Rockingham Motor Speedway taking place this coming weekend (20/21st August) for the full leader board please see our Race Standings.
